The equipment used for polishing glass is very simple. Felt polishing wheels, grinding stones and abrasive belts, optical glass polishing paste and a lot of patience. Customers who mostly use this service are collectors, traders and even engravers who maybe (have made a mistake? I said that quietly) and more often than not, choosing this avenue proves more cost effective than replacing the piece that they have already invested a lot of time working on.

The polishing process starts by examining the area that needs the work, and assessing the depth of the damage and then making a decision on whether to start by grinding the surface first. When removing scratches and blemishes from glass and crystal it is not enough to polish the immediate area, a much wider area has to be worked on to reduce the risk of creating a dip, which would distort the view through the glass.

Although a great deal of care is taken.
There's always a very slim chance a piece of glass may break whilst being worked on. This is because the glass as well being a naturally fragile material may have a stress fault caused by the initial damage.
All restoraton work is undertaken on the understanding that it is entirely at the customers own risk.

If the worst should happen no charge will be made and unfortunately no compensation can be offered.
